It has been my experience that people of all ages respond to vision training in a very positive way. The youngest students that I have worked with were preschoolers and the oldest was ninety. Vision is easily and quickly restored if action is taken at the first signs of difficulty. To take this another step beyond, the ideal situation would be to prevent the problem in the first place, by being aware of the signs, particularly in school. Tension, is like a thief in the night. We are not aware of what is happening until we find something valuable has been stolen while we were completely unaware.

As you read on you will see people just like you and me that have taken into their own hands the responsibility of restoring their precious gift of sight, and have gained a world of good to incorporate into their everyday living,They found life was more focused and three dimensional, Also they were left with a real zest for living, With more control over their lives by learning to direct themselves mentally and physically. They also relieved themselves of the fuss and inconvenience of glasses or contacts.

NEARSIGHTEDNESS/ MYOPIA
Case History A:
Hyperopia (farsighted)

This 24 year old man had worn glasses since age 12. Hyperopia is the same condition as presbyopia, except the person is not old enough to call it "old age sight". Farsighted people wear plus lenses, or magnifying lenses for reading and distant seeing. He needed stronger glasses about every three years. His vision measured 20/30 for reading and 20/50 for distance with astigmatism. After three months of vision training (February 1984 through April 1984) he attained 20/20 vision for reading and distance.

Case History B:
Presbyopia

The 81 year old man had worn bifocals for 20 years (since age 61). Prior to starting vision training his vision measured for reading R = 20/150, L = 20/200,
B = 20/100. For distance it measured, R = 20/100, L = 20/400, B = 20/100. After ten months of vision training (September 1981 through July 1982), he had attained for reading R = 20/25, L = 20/30, B = 20/20. For distance he had attained R = 20/20, L = 20/30, B = 20/20.

Case History C:
Myopia

This 29 year old man had worn glasses since age 14. His beginning vision measured 20/200 each eye. After 15 months of vision training (March, 1977 through June 1978), he attained 20/20 vision.

Case History D:
Presbyopia

This 70 year old woman had worn glasses for 20 years. She had only been in bifocals for two years. Prior to starting training her vision measured for reading R = 20/40, L = 20/30. For distance it measured 20/50 for each eye. After three months of vision training (September, 1981 through December, 1981) she attained normal vision near and far.

Case History E:
MYOPIA (EXTREME NEARSIGHTEDNESS)

This 33 year old woman had worn glasses since age 8, and was experiencing progressive myopia, which means that every year she had to have a stronger prescription because her vision was getting worse. Prior to starting vision training her measurement was R = 20/1600 and L = 20/400. She also suffered motion sickness to the degree she was unable to dance. After three months she took up folk dancing. After eight months of vision training (December 1977 through July 1978), her vision measured R = 20/200 L = 20/100 and both eyes together 20/80. One of the things she discovered was that the world was so colorful and that it had depth and space. She said, "The mountains look round instead of flat." Glasses, although they allow us to see and function, distort reality.

Case History F:
Myopia (A NERVE CASE )

This 42 year old woman had experienced a vision problem at eight years old, and her mother had taken her to a Bates vision trainer then. Her vision normalized and she did not have any difficulty until about two years prior to coming to me. Her vision measured 20/30 prior to starting vision training. She complained of bad headaches, motion sickness, and sensitivity to light. After two lessons the motions sickness was gone and after one month, her headaches never returned. After a total of six months of vision training (March through October 1981), she attained 20/20 vision.

Case History G:
Myopia

This young man was 16 years old. Prior to starting vision training his vision measured R = 20/100, L =20/200. After ten months of vision training (March 1981 through January 1982), he attained 20/20 vision.

Case History H:
Presbyopia

This 49 year old woman had worn glasses for two years and had a slight astigmatism. Prior to starting training her vision measured for reading 20/40. For distance it measured 20/25. After ten weeks of vision training (July 1982 through October 1982), she attained 20/20 vision near and far.

Case History J:
Presbyopia (Macular Degeneration and Hemorrhage )
EXTREME STRESS

This 66 year old man came to me because he had had a hemorrhage in his left eye. Previous laser treatment from an ophthalmologist resulted in further damage. As a last resort he took vision training. He had worn glasses for 25 years and bifocals the last five years. A diagnose of macular degeneration was also noted at this time. He had a very tense personality, was restless, and hadn't slept through the night in over ten years. Prior to starting training his vision measurement for reading was R = 20/150, L = the eye with hemorrhage could only see black and shades of gray of large print (Reader's Digest large print magazine) at 20 inches. For distance his vision was R = 20/25, his left eye could not distinguish a two inch letter at three feet because of the damage. After six lessons he learned to see better and began sleeping through the night. After ten lessons his right eye had attained 20/30 for reading and his left eye 20/60. He could now see a two- inch letter at eight feet. He reported relaxed sleeping throughout the night. friends commented on how calm he had become. After ten lessons he was so grateful to have his vision returning and felt so good he even decided not to sue the ophthalmologist for malpractice.

And it bears repeating, it doesn't seem to matter how severe the vision problem is, motivation seems to move mountains.
